Warning: spoilers ahead for .
Throughout its six-episode run on Plus, Marvel series Moon Knight has transfixed viewers, as they were transported to a world where ancient Egyptian gods ruled the roost.
In the episode 6 finale post-credits scene, fans were finally introduced to a significant character after weeks of anticipation – Jake Lockley, the third identity played by Oscar Isaac after Marc Spector and Steven Grant.
While Marc and Steven are aware of each other, it appears that neither of them know about Jake’s presence, leading to speculation that he could be explored further in a potential season 2.
So who is this mysterious individual also under Khonshu’s thumb?
Who is Jake Lockley?
In the comics, Jake Lockley is another identity of Marc’s, who takes on the persona of a street-smart taxi driver.
In the original source material, Jake is able to use his job to gather valuable information from the streets.
However, in the show, he appears to have a far more violent streak, shooting Harrow without hesitation in the post-credits scene of the finale.
There are also previous scenes where it was hinted that he got his hands bloody, when both Marc and Steven blacked out and then became conscious to discover dead bodies around them, unaware of what happened as another identity took over.
In the final episode of the series, this happened once again when Marc was fighting Harrow and was on the verge of defeat, before Jake presumably emerged to save the day.
Fans couldn’t contain their excitement when he showed up in the post-credits scene, with one tweeting: ‘My man Jake Lockley is finally home after so long.’
‘Not Marvel saving THE Jake Lockley for THE END CREDITS?? I can’t wait for what comes next,’ another wrote.
Could there be a season 2 of Moon Knight?
A second season of Moon Knight hasn’t been confirmed, but there are plenty of unanswered questions fans are undoubtedly hoping will be answered in the future.
The biggest questions surround Jake and how he may continue to work with Khonshu while Marc and Steven remain none-the-wiser.
On top of that, we have to ask what happened to Marc and Steven at the end of Moon Knight to result in them winding back up at Steven’s apartment in London?
Plus, where has Layla gone, and will she continue to be Taweret’s avatar despite originally saying that their arrangement was temporary?
Whether these conundrums are addressed in a potential season two or in other MCU releases, we can’t wait to find out.
Moon Knight is available to watch on Disney Plus.
