What film and TV roles has Mischa Barton had
After beginning her career on the stage, Barton made her screen debut in 1995 with a guest appearance in Australian soap opera All My Children.
Her first major film role came in 1997 when she starred as Devon Stockard in fantasy drama Lawn Dogs alongside Sam Rockwell.
In 1999 she starred in a number of hit films including romantic comedy Notting Hill, M. Night Shyamalan’s iconic thriller The Sixth Sense, and crime drama Pups.
In 2003 she landed one of her best-known roles as Marissa Cooper in, which she starred in until 2006.
As part of the drama series she received two Teen Choice Awards and was named the ‘It Girl’ of 2003 by Entertainment Weekly.
The role propelled her to mainstream fame, and led to her starring in the likes of the 2007 remake of St Trinians, and Richard Attenborough-directed documentary Closing the Ring in the same year.
She make a return to TV in 2009 in Ashton Kutcher series The Beautiful Life where she appeared in five episodes as Sonja Stone.
Barton has appeared in a number of independent films, gaining critical acclaim for her performance in 2014 drama film Starcrossed.
In 2019 she was cast in the first series of MTV’s The Hills: New Beginnings, before starring alongside Stranger Things’ Joe Keery in 2020 horror Spree.
This year, she was cast in an extended guest role for the rebooted Australian soap Neighbours, which will appear on Amazon Freevee.
