The MTV Movie and TV Awards 2022 have come and gone, with some well-deserved winners making the cut.

This year’s prestigious ceremony, which took place in Santa Monica and was hosted by Vanessa Hudgens, on both the big and small screens.

Among a fairly chaotic show – which saw star Poopies take the award for best kiss () – and Jack Black were also for their contributions to the industry.

Spider-Man: No Way Home was one of the most massively anticipated films of the past year, and it will come as no surprise to many that the blockbuster took home the gong for best movie.

It was a fantastic night for the Spider-Man stars, with Tom Holland receiving the award for best performance in a movie, and co-star and girlfriend Zendaya taking the prize for best performance in a show.

Zendaya’s award was for the phenomenal Euphoria, which was also announced best show on the night.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was also recognised at the ceremony for his role in The Lost City alongside Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock, where he was awarded the prize for best villain.

Rising star Sophia Di Martino, meanwhile, took home the award for best breakthrough performance for her role in Disney’s Loki, and later returned to the stage to accept the best team award on behalf of the show’s cast.

Singer and actress J-Lo, who was given the coveted generation award, reflected on ‘disappointment and failure’ throughout her career as she accepted the gong.

She said: ‘Thank all those people who give me this life, who broke my heart… thank you to disappointment and failure… and my children for teaching me to love.’

The star added: ‘I want to thank all the people who told me, to my face or when I wasn’t in the room, that I couldn’t do this.

‘I really don’t think I could have done this without you.’

School of Rock star Jack, meanwhile, bounded onstage dressed as a panda to accept his prize for comedic genius – a clear nod to his fan-favourite animated film series Kung Fu Panda.

He said it was ‘ridiculous, I don’t deserve it’ as he accepted the prize from Awkwafina, and added: ‘This is for all the school of rockers and all the Tenacious D disciples.’

Clips of some of Jack’s most iconic films were played for the audience before his appearance, including from School Of Rock in which he declares that Rock ‘n’ Roll was Ki**ed by MTV (awkward).

Elsewhere at the star-studded ceremony, the Stranger Things cast reunited on the red carpet as season four enjoys rave reviews, and Selling Sunset icon Chrishell Stause , following her split from Jason Oppenheim.
