producer Jared March has died two years after being diagnosed with cancer.
The media star died on January 27 at the age of 28, having just married long-term girlfriend Brittany on December 30 last year.
His death was announced on his foundation page, with his family paying tribute to their ‘strong, kind, creative, funny and loving’ loved one.
March, who produced popular MTV reality competition The Challenge, had been diagnosed with soft-cell tissue sarcoma in 2021 – the most recent episode of the series was dedicated to him, with a being shared on the show’s Instagram page.
In their tribute, they shared a snap of Jared writing: ‘In loving memory of Jared March.
‘A true champion behind the scenes who will forever be a part of The Challenge and MTV Entertainment families.’
In the years since his diagnosis, March set up the Team Jmared Foundation to help others going through similar diagnoses; it has raised over $300,000 (£236,000) to help patients and their families cover bills, childcare, rent and transport.
His wife, Brittany, had shared photographs of their Florida wedding to Instagram in December, revealing they had married ‘spontaneously.’
”We are still so excited for our big celebration later in 2024, but we didn’t want to wait to start this next phase of our lives together.’
In a statement announcing March’s death, the family wrote: ‘From the day he was diagnosed, Jared fought with his full self and showed the world what it means to fight to survive with grace and courage.
‘He fought through countless treatments and surgeries to maximize his time with those he loved. To be clear, Jared never let his cancer diagnosis define him – he lived every day to the fullest.
‘In the last two and a half years, he fell in love with and married the love of his life, went to South Africa to produce his favorite television show (MTV’s The Challenge), traveled the country with family and friends, and, most importantly, made the most of every single day.’
His family have vowed to ‘carry on his legacy’ through the Team Jmared Foundation.
