Evan Ellingson has died at the age of 35.
The former child actor, most known for his roles in My Sister’s Keeper and CSI: Miami, reportedly died at a property in San Bernardino on Sunday.
reports that his body was discovered in his bedroom at a sober-living home over the weekend.
His dad, Michael, told the outlet that he has struggled with drugs over the years but had been doing better.
He added that the sudden loss had come as a shock to their family.
Ellingson’s cause of death has not been confirmed, but officials from the coroner’s officer are thought to have told the outlet that there appears to be no foul play involved.
The late star first hit our screens as a youngster, with a cameo in General Hospital in 2001.
He went on to land roles in Bones and Complete Savages, and enjoyed a 10-episode stint in Titus.
In 2007, he shared the screen with Hollywood icon Kiefer Sutherland in 24 – playing the main star’s nephew, Josh Bauer, alongside DB Woodside and James Morrison.
Two years later, Ellingson appeared as Cameron Diaz’s teenage son, Jesse Fitzgerald, in drama My Sister’s Keeper, also starring Alec Baldwin and Abigail Breslin.
He also enjoyed a recurring role in CSI: Miami as Kyle Harmon, popping up in nearly 20 instalments between 2007 – 2010.
After this, he seemingly took a step back from the spotlight and did not work on anything publicly in the years before his death.
