Nicola Peltz addresses alleged ‘cold war feud’ rumours with mother-in-law Victoria Beckham

Beckham has addressed rumours about an alleged feud with her mother-in-law , pouring cold water on the speculation.

The Transformers: Age of Extinction also revealed she felt that rumours had started when she wore a Valentino wedding dress rather than a Victoria Beckham gown with back in April – and had a very simple explanation for why she didn’t.

Tackling the topic for the first time, head on, as part of Brooklyn’s cover interview with Variety, the 27-year-old was candid in her response.

‘I was going to, and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,’ Nicola .

Addressing the alleged bone of contention, as reported, she added: ‘She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it.’

With neither Nicola nor Victoria mentioning the gown publicly ahead of the big day, but having been , the actress then pinned that down on being what sparking the assumptions of a feud.

‘That’s where it started, and then they ran with that,’ she said.

had previously reported that the two were locked in ‘a cold war’ ahead of the wedding, with a source telling the publication: ‘They can’t stand each other and don’t talk. The build-up to the wedding was horrendous.’

Brooklyn also added his support to his wife’s statement contradicting the reports, sharing: ‘Everyone gets along, which is good.’

The new interview came shortly after Nicola opened up , where she said she wanted to show fans a different side of herself as she posted candid Instagram snaps.

‘Sometimes I find it hard to show the sad bits of me,’ she wrote.

The Bates Motel star went on to say that growing up in a large family of seven siblings and two ‘very strong parents’ made me ‘really tough.’

She added: ‘They hammered it into me to not let people bring me down or hurt my heart.

‘It made me put such a wall up to protect myself especially in this industry. We all have days where people make you feel bad and it’s okay to be hurt by it. 

‘I just thought I would write something because I never show this side of me here. I wanted to show this side of me.’

Nicola ended the emotional caption with a thank you to her followers for ‘all of your support’, saying she appreciated ‘kind’ comments, as friend offered her support to Nicola, calling her ‘an angel child’.
