has confessed that songs from his latest album aren’t going over too well with his fans in the United States on his latest solo tour.
The former , 56, recently released his band High Flying Birds’ latest album, Council Skies, which reached number two in the UK.
However, judging by responses on tour, it seems the new songs from Council Skies aren’t as popular with American audiences .
The setlist for the run of shows in the States begins with four songs from the new record, with big hits from the past pushed further towards the end.
It’s a move that doesn’t appear to have paid off if Noel’s most recent comments about his experiences with US crowds are anything to go by.
He lamented: ‘[It’s] terrible. I’m starting off with [four or] five new ones. People should have bought the f****** album, then, shouldn’t they?’
Speaking to , he went on to criticise the fans coming to his latest concerts: ‘They stand there with their mouths open thinking, “What the f**k is this?”‘
In the interview, the Don’t Look Back In Anger hitmaker did admit that he has been shying away from writing songs that sound similar to Oasis.
He explained: ‘I’ve only persevered with [new song Easy Now] because it was so good. There’s no point in me [releasing a song that] … sounds like s**t Oasis.’
‘I’d give one of my children to rewrite Definitely Maybe and have it be as good and as vital and as relevant. But it’s not gonna f*****g happen.’
Last week, Noel admitted that, ever since 2006, when he’s not touring the world, while getting stoned.
Speaking about the 2006 winners Lordi, he said: ‘I was sat watching it, a bit stoned, and thinking, “What the f**k?” Then they won it.’
On Friday, he also revealed what caused his , saying that Covid lockdowns caused them to grow tired of each other.
