star has revealed runs in the family, after confirming his wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined upcoming series Ahsoka.
In just over a week, Ewan will make his highly-anticipated return as Jedi Master Kenobi in his eponymous Plus show, reuniting with his prequel film trilogy co-star Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, aka the dreaded Darth Vader.
Star Wars has plenty of exciting projects in the pipeline, including prequel show Andor with Diego Luna, season 3 with and Ahsoka with Rosario Dawson, the last of which boasts his partner – Scott Pilgrim vs The World star Mary, 37 – in the cast.
The couple together last year – and Ewan, 51, is already wondering if the youngster will become at one with the Force or end up veering towards Star Trek instead.
‘My partner, Mary, is doing that Star Wars series with Rosario and she’s about to start,’ with Mary’s involvement in Ahsoka having not previously been confirmed by Lucasfilm amid rumours.
Speaking to , he continued: ‘Our little boy has been born into this massive Star Wars family. He will either embrace it or really go the other way. I don’t know. Maybe he’ll be a Trekkie!’
Ewan was previously married to production designer Eve Mavrakis from 1995 to 2020, with the Moulin Rouge actor filing for divorce from her in 2017.
The former couple share four daughters together, two of whom were adopted.
Ewan and Mary started dating after meeting on the set of Fargo, having first been romantically linked in 2017 before tying the knot in April this year.
In June last year, it was confirmed that they had welcomed a son after Ewan’s daughter, Clara, shared a post on Instagram, writing in the caption: ‘Welcome to the world little brother.’
‘Congratulations to my Dad & Mary – this is the greatest gift,’ she added, alongside a photo of her cradling the newborn.
Ahsoka is expected to be released in 2023, following the titular character first introduced in live-action in The Mandalorian season two, before she returned in The Book of Boba Fett season one.
The Jedi previously appeared in the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels, where she was introduced as the Padawan of Anakin before he turned to the dark side.
Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Friday May 27 on Disney Plus.
