Olivia Wilde has blasted ex-partner Jason Sudeikis for , amid their tumultuous custody battle, it has been claimed.
The former couple, who share children Otis and Daisy, started dating in 2011 , after nine years together.
Following their split, the Don’t Worry Darling director – while her former flame recently broke up with Keeley Hazell.
Sudeikis and Wilde have been co-parenting their brood ever since, splitting their time between LA, New York and London.
However, the Ted Lasso actor filed a custody petition earlier this year when their arrangement was facing changes, with questions over where their family would be residing.
It was claimed that the OC star wanted to relocate to London in a bid to be closer to the Watermelon Sugar singer, forcing Sudeikis to take action – resulting in the documents being served at CinemaCon.
In a new court filing filed by Wilde to dismiss the dad-of-two’s motion, she reportedly accused her ex of trying to ‘embarrass’ and ‘threaten’ her with the public move, which made headlines around the world.
Documents, obtained by , alleged that they had originally agreed to send their children to school in LA following filming wrapping for the upcoming series of Ted Lasso, before Sudeikis reportedly changed his mind on plans, instead wanting to live in New York during his time off.
The filmmaker did not agree to the change of plans, which is when Sudeikis is thought to have filed his paperwork – but later insisted that he was unaware that the documents would be served so publicly.
‘Jason’s actions were clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard,’ the paperwork reportedly reads. ‘He could have served me discreetly, but instead he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible.
‘The fact that Jason would embarrass me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this manner is extremely contrary to our children’s best interests.Â
‘Since Jason has made it clear that we will not be able to work this out for our children’s sake outside of the court system, I filed a petition for custody in Los Angeles.’
According to the publication, the We’re The Millers lead shared a declaration to the court, explaining that the family had been residing in London since last December, while he finished filming for Ted Lasso.
Sudeikis claimed that he intended to return to Brooklyn after this, and wanted his family to join him as per their custody arrangement – but alleged that Wilde wanted them to move back to LA.
He reportedly said that he believed it was in the best interest of their children to grow up in Brooklyn – while Wilde was planning to move to London at the end of 2023.
The paperwork claims that he still cares ‘deeply’ for his former partner despite their split, and therefore was wary of filing for custody.
However, he alleged that Wilde informed him that if he didn’t live in LA full-time, their arrangement would be forced to change so that he only saw their children on weekends and holidays, which he said was ‘depriving me of my right to parent’ their son and daughter.
He also said that she voiced her intention to relocate to the UK in 2023, after which he became ‘fearful’ that she would take the children from him, and decided to file paperwork.
Sudeikis insisted that he had no idea that she would be served so publicly, and hoped that it would take place in a ‘benign manner’ – but only learned of the incident when it became a worldwide story.
In the shocking moment, Wilde was in LA and was briefly interrupted when she was discussing her upcoming film, Don’t Worry Darling – which also stars Styles, Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.
Someone in the audience approached the stage and slid across a brown envelope for her, which she picked up and questioned: ‘This is for me?’
Appearing confused, she then opened the paperwork before continuing on with the talk, keeping hold of the envelope.
In the court documents, he added that he still feels ‘great distress’ over how this was handled, insisting that he is ‘very, very sorry’ that it marred such an important moment in her career.
Although this is the first time Wilde has acknowledged the moment she was served, Sudeikis’ reps previously vowed that he had no clue of how it happened.
They said in a statement: ‘Mr Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.’
