While some might consider it the ultimate fashion faux pas to , actress Olivia, 39, took it in her stride and even gave 29-year-old Vogue China editor-in-chief Margaret a shout-out on social media the next day.

Posting a side-by-side snap of their dresses, Olivia raved: ‘Great minds. If you’re gonna twin with anyone, make it @margaretzhang.’

And that, folks, is how you turn an awkward situation into one to be celebrated all while managing to lift up someone else. Kudos, Olivia!

Luckily, there were a few distinct differences in the way they opted to style their dresses, the most obvious of which being the fact Olivia wore a white dress while Margaret went for the black option.

Olivia also wore cuffs on her forearms that matched the dress’s gold embellishments, while Margaret showed off a dramatic matching cloak instead and had a fuller skirt with embroidery on the hem as opposed to Olivia’s column-shaped skirt.

Both had been inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s 1983 violin dress, which he designed for the French fashion house, as the , in tribute to the late designer.
