The series, which aired its first episode on Friday night, advocates sex-positivity and steps away from the taboos around sex and polyamory.

From sweethearts looking for a throuple, On***ans stars, and even , the cast could give Love Island contestants a run for their money as they take part in saucy sex-games.

Channel 4 describes the social experiment as a ‘bold concept’ where ‘committed couples come to a luxury retreat to test whether opening up their relationships and having sex with other people will strengthen their bond.’

The six-part series may be a bold experiment, and a shocking show, but it also provides a safe and healthy way for poly-curious couples to explore their fantasies.

What is Open House: The Great Sex Experiment about?

Open House: The Great Sex Experiment invites poly-curious couples to a luxury retreat full of sexy singles and gives them the chance to explore their sexual fantasies and desires.

At the same time, intimacy therapist Dr Lori Beth is on-hand to provide support and advice, ensuring relationships are kept safe and healthy.

The committed couples that enter the show put their monogamous relationships to the test, to see if they’re ready for ethical non-monogamy, while their journey is broadcast on national TV.

Last night, viewers saw couple Nathan and Mady try a steamy three-way, but after it didn’t quite go the way Nathan expected, leaving him feeling like a ‘spare part’, it nearly tore them apart.

After speaking to Dr Lori, the couple agreed to talk openly about their feelings and work harder to make everyone feel involved.

They then decided to give having a threesome another go, which turned out to be a success, leaving them ready to leave the resort and open up their relationship.
