Speaking about where their relationship currently stands, former Top Gear host Paddy expressed his ‘love’ for his estranged wife.
Paddy also admitted to ‘struggling’ with the break-up initially, but explained that he has not been to therapy.
Speaking to , the former Take Me Out presenter said: ‘I am very protective of Christine and
‘The fact that we can still live together, we never argue and there’s no toxicity in the house, says it all, really.
‘We have separate bedrooms because we respect that we aren’t together anymore but, whether we work it through or we don’t, what we do have is a really, really lovely family unit at home.’
Paddy – who started dating Christine in 2009 before tying the knot two years later – confessed to sometimes.
He also acknowledged that their arrangement ‘must be strange for people looking at it from the outside in.’

On how he’s been coping with going separate ways from Christine, the comedian said the only time they row is when ‘lawyers are involved’.
Paddy noted that ‘there doesn’t need to be toxicity’ in a divorce, assuring that ‘there is more laughter and love in our house than arguments.’

His interview comes after the gloves reportedly came off in legal proceedings.
It was believed that Christine had ‘had enough’, with Paddy expecting proceedings to become ‘expensive’.
A friend of Christine’s told : ‘The gloves are off, she was good to Paddy, she stayed at home and brought up his children while he was out earning money.
‘It’s going to be an expensive divorce for Paddy.

This was after Christine reportedly hired a hotshot lawyer to fight her corner.
Catherine Bedford is also known as the ‘pitbull’, and previously helped make-up artist Lisa Armstrong, who  from presenter Ant McPartlin.
She’s also currently  in her very public divorce from singer Joe Jonas.
A source told  that Christine was keen to ‘work with a woman’ and she saw Catherine as ‘one of the best in the business’.
