A former talk show host has been asked to apologise to after an old interview was shared on .
In 2004 , now 56, appeared twice on .
Posting a throwback clip of one of her appearances this week, the now-defunct show and its host for the line of questioning at the time.
In the clip, Ellen gives her a pop quiz on American history (in which Pamela finished with a perfect score) before then turning her attention to.
‘So really I am actually fascinated by everything that you’re doing,’ she began.
‘I don’t know how you have time because all people really know about you is your love life. That is all anybody really focuses on,’ she declared, before doing just that.
‘And by the way I’ve followed along, it’s like you wouldn’t have time to do anything else,’ she added as the studio audience burst into laughter.
Laughing herself but looking somewhat uncomfortable, Pamela responded: ‘Yes, I’m juggling.’
Ellen then launched into a string of questions, asking Pamela who she was currently dating, where she would go to meet them and what her relationship was like with Tommy Lee, the father of her sons Brandon and Dylan.
At one point Pamela made clear she didn’t want to discuss who she was dating, simply saying: ‘I’m dating and it’s hard to date when you have children, you know?’
She later looked to her side and appeared to struggle to make eye contact with the host.
Wrapping things up, Ellen said it felt like she was ‘grilling’ Pamela about her love life, to which her guest replied that if she ‘had something good I would tell you’.
‘Well try and think of something because we want to know. We want to know some dirt,’ Ellen responded as Pamela let out a huge sigh.
Watching the interaction back, many were outraged.
‘Pam looks like she wants to get the hell out of there. This interview was rough,’ Casey commented on the clip.
‘Wow you treated her awful. Mocking and belittling her. Why would you ever repost this. It shows you in a horrible light. Have you not learned anything??? Shame on you! This is not who Pam is,’ Chrissy shared.
‘Ellen should really apologize for that very embarrassing and hostile interview,’ Johanna added.
Others said the interview was ‘insulting’ and showed signs of ‘bullying’.
However also praised Pamela’s sense of humour during the pop quiz.
Responding to the first question about what the two houses of Congress are, she responded ‘Dior and Versace’, before quickly adding: ‘Senate and House of Representatives.’
After being asked who the President during the Civil War was, she quipped: ‘Abe the babe.’
She then said ‘too many times’ when questioned about how many times a Senator could be re-elected.
