fans did a double take when she reappeared with her new look, with one calling it her ‘Rihanna 2010’ era.
The singer, 43, who , beating runner-up Mark Rhodes, on Tuesday’s Loose Women.
Michelle had swapped her trademark brown locks for a bold red ‘do, much like Rihanna during her Loud album campaign, and viewers were loving the transformation.
‘#Loosewomen Michelle looking lovely love the hair and lashes,’ one remarked, while another added: ‘Michelle seems to be a lovely person and has aged extremely well #Loosewomen.’
A third fawned: ‘So lovely to see Michelle McManus back on our screens. She would be a fantastic loose woman!’
On Loose Women, Michelle reflected on her experience as a woman in the public eye during the early 00s and said the focus was often placed on her physical appearance rather than her singing abilities.
She said: ‘One of the first articles that popped out said at the top ‘Can Michelle sing? Yes. Is she going to be a pop star? But come on lads, you wouldn’t would you?’
Breaking down in tears, Michelle said she felt ‘shame’ at the narrative in the press about her and explained she felt she had let her fans ‘down’.

‘It’s my second year of doing it…I like to change it for the two weeks of summer that we get in Scotland,’ she explained on Lorraine at the time.
‘I always like to change my hair colour so there you go.’
More recently, Michelle has become a mum, welcoming sons Harry John Nimmo in 2020 and with husband Jeff Nimmo, who she has been married to since 2017.
Michelle enjoyed a short-lived music career after finding fame on Pop Idol, including hitting the number one spot with her debut single All This Time.
She released her first and only album, The Meaning Of Love, the following year but was dropped by her record label a short while later.
Over the years she has made numerous TV appearances, including in a special of Gillian McKeith’s You Are What You Eat, and from 2009 until 2011 she hosted STV lifestyle programme The Hour.
