might have wowed the crowd at BST Hyde Park on Saturday night, but he completely missed a marriage proposal.

The veteran popstar, 50, played to thousands at the famous summer festival over the weekend, to the stage.

But as the sun went down, someone in the crowd had a surprise of their own, as a Robbie fan got down on one knee, proposing to his girlfriend during one of his best-known songs.

The Stoke-on-Trent native was performing his hit She’s the One – a cover of the song originally by World Party – in 1999.

A slow, sensitive ballad, She’s the One was clearly the perfect opportunity for the couple to get engaged, with those around cheering and clapping for the pair.

The moment was captured on video, posted on Twitter by @KCKatherine, with the future husband and wife sharing a kiss during the romantic moment as Robbie sang in the background.

Once the question had been asked and answered – with an enthusiastic yes! – a crowd of people around them cheered and applauded, joining in with the happy times.

But one person who was none the wiser, despite all the commotion, was Robbie himself, who continued singing the song that has sold almost 800,000 copies.

Now, because singers often perform under bright stage lights and are focused on their own performances, it’s often possible to miss incidents in the crowd – after all, that’s what stewards are for.

But this proposal took place right at the front of the crowd, leaving some spectators shocked that the Let Me Entertain You singer didn’t spot the sweet moment.

However, other videos of the gig showed that Robbie himself was off the stage and in another section of the audience, meaning he might have been several yards away from where the proposal took place.

At one point during She’s the One, Robbie did appear to hear the cheering, responding by saying ‘It hasn’t finished yet, I’m still here!’ as he went back to the stage.

It was a night of big surprises for the crowd in Hyde Park, with of the 1990s Blur hit Parklife.

The song was originally performed by the London band and actor Phil Daniels, who also starred in EastEnders, many years before Danny showed up in Albert Square.

Metro.co.uk said of Danny’s appearance: ‘Saluting the Britpop era, [Robbie] went into a rendition of Oasis’ Don’t Look Back in Anger. [Then] everyone’s favourite cockney legend and EastEnders icon Danny Dyer [came to the stage].

‘[Danny chanted] Parklife like it was his own while the brass band marched across the catwalk stage.’
