Robert Pattinson has fans totally baffled after a song under his name was released onto , with many uncertain whether the star was behind it or not.

The track, titled The Last I Think Of You, was uploaded to the music platform earlier this week without a whisper with the artist listed as the Batman actor.

At the time of writing, the song has been played over 28,000 times with listeners streaming it from Los Angeles in the US to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

It’s not yet been confirmed whether Robert is actually behind the song or not, but many suspect that a ‘troll’ posing as the Twilight actor has uploaded it.

‘I cannot believe y’all actually think that “new Robert Pattinson” song on Spotify is real,’ wrote one. ‘That’s so clearly not his voice LMFAO and the guitar doesn’t match the music and the recording of the voice is kinda awful.’

One thing that is for certain though is that the track has divided opinion.

‘I just listen to robert pattinson’s new song and suddenly he is no longer attractive to me,’ wrote one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘Someone please tell me Robert Pattinson put this song out as a joke.’

Robert is no stranger to the world of music. In fact, he sang two songs for the Twilight soundtracks, Let Me Sign and ‘Never Think.

The tracks were included in the film after director Catherine Hardwicke added his recordings into an early cut without his knowledge.

The actor has previously said: ‘I’ve never really recorded anything – I just played in pubs and stuff’ and when asked about a professional music career, he added: ‘Music is my back-up plan if acting fails.’

In October 2020, Robert made a cameo appearance in the band Haim’s performance of the song 3 a.m.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers, he performed the song’s opening spoken-word section via a front-facing facetime call video, reciting the lines of the phone call at the beginning of the song.

Metro.co.uk has contacted Robert’s reps for comment.
