**Warning – spoilers for RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 finale to follow!**
has crowned its season 14 winner after an epic showgirl showdown-inspired finale.
After weeks of fierce battle between the queens, last night saw another champion finally crowned by the queen of drag herself, RuPaul.
Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Bosco, Daya Betty, Lady Camden and Willow Pill were the final five all battling it out in a Las Vegas showgirl-themed smackdown for the title.
The finalists all had to take on solo performances before Ru whittled down the competition even further.
Following their sickening routines, Ru announced Camden and Willow as the top two queens – meaning they had to face the final lip sync.
RuPaul then ruled that Willow Pill was a winner baby! And the performer was crowned the 14th in-season winner of the global drag franchise.
Willow took home a cash prize of $150,000 (£115,000) as well as a crown and sceptre from Fierce! Drag Jewels and a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverley Hills cosmetics.
‘I really want to thank my family and my friends,’ said Willow.
‘And most of all, I need to thank Kornbread’s ankle!’
Willow quickly won over Drag Race fans with incredible fun and innovative runway looks – as well as their cheeky sense of humour.
Before their win, Willow posted a poignant message on Instagram, sharing: ‘I’ve gained and lost a lot in the last year, but one of the most valuable parts I didn’t expect was being able to fall in love with myself again.
‘5-year-old me would be so proud and so confused as to what the hell a rupaul is.’
Earlier this year, Willow became the fifth queen on.
’It’s taken me a long time to come to terms with my transness because so much space has been taken up by my illness,’ , which touched on their diagnosis with the kidney disease cystinosis.’
Cystinosis is a disease that can cause issues with various vital bodily functions including muscles.
‘My condition has caused me so much physical and emotional pain that my body became something I always wanted out of. Eventually, hating my body for failing me and hating myself for not being a girl was so constant and intertwined that it felt totally normal. I know it’s not my fault, just the way I’ve learned to survive,’ Willow added.
They went on to explain that their pronouns are she/they, sharing how they explored ‘feelings about illness, medical PTSD and self-hatred’ during the Covid pandemic, which led them to realise they were ‘not happy’ with their gender identity.
The finale also saw the return of season 13 winner Symone and former Miss Congeniality LaLa Ri, who announced Kornbread ‘The Snack’ Jeté.
