has roasted a troll who bashed her for advertising ‘expensive food and clothes’ on her .

The star, 64, clapped back after she was told to ‘think of the homeless’ when she posted an advert for ’s Finest Deli Range.

She had posted a clip of herself presenting a platter board from the supermarket, including meats, cheeses and a bottle of bubbly.

However, the promotion irriated one of her followers, who fumed: ‘Do you ever think of the homeless while advertising expensive food and clothes.’

The former presenter expertly clapped back and told them: ‘You have no idea what I do for, or contribute to, so if you’re trying to shame me it won’t work!’

It’s not the first time Ruth has on social media.

In October, an Instagram user also had an issue with the TV star promoting Tesco after she shared a clip of herself making a fish dish inspired by a holiday in Spain using products from the supermarket.

‘Ruth is better than this ridiculous advertising. Sad to watch,’ they fumed.

However, Ruth was having none of it and fired back: ‘Feel free to unfollow if this is making you sad.’

The user then backtracked and told Ruth she ‘lover her posts normally’ and praised her chemistry with QVC co-host Jackie Kabler.

‘For some reason, these Tesco posts seem odd so I’ll stick to your other lovely posts. Sorry if I seemed harsh, as I wish you well and didn’t intend to offend,’ they added.

Ruth graciously accepted their apology and said: ‘No offence taken and good to hear you enjoy our shows on QVC….thanks for watching x..’

It has been a tough year for Ruth, who split from her husband Eamonn Holmes, 64, after in May, with reports at the time stating work commitments had resulted in them drifting in ‘different directions’.

Ruth has not directly addressed their shock break-up but did reveal it had been ‘tricky’ parting ways in the public eye. It has also been claimed she hired a firece lawyer to navigate their divorce.

It is believed Ruth is single, while Eamonn has moved on with new girlfriend, 42, who accompanied him on several trips this year.

A source previously told The Sun:  The Sun: ‘Katie certainly seems to be able to put a smile back on Eamonn’s face.

‘They seem genuinely besotted with each other.’
