Ryan Gosling has attempted to explain.
The 42-year-old Drive star has enjoyed wearing lots of pink and frolicking around Barbieland of late, as he’s set to appear as Ken in the, coming to cinemas on July 21.
Alongside the Barbiecore fashion trend, , and general pink-tastic hype surrounding the film – – there’s been many mutterings about ‘Kenergy.’
Now, this is hard to explain. But if anyone can do it, it’s Ken himself, the man who coined the term.
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon last year Ryan described Kenergy as being an ‘accessory’ to Barbie, and ‘not even one of the cool ones.’
Not perhaps as cool as Barbie’s pink convertible, or epic Dreamhouse – which, by the way, .
But now, in further attempts to define the undefinable, Ryan has likened Kenergy to being as intangible as WiFi, and is even worried it’s ‘affecting the bees’.
In perhaps the most heartwarming video we’ve ever seen, when asked about how he found his Kenergy and if he had any tips for us normal folk on how to channel ours, Ryan explained: ‘Look no further, you are Kenough.’
Stop!
In the Toronto red carpet event, while , the Notebook star continued: ‘It’s like WiFi. It’s there. Do you know how it’s really there? I don’t. I mean, could you explain WiFi?
After a bit of debate, in which it became apparent Ryan hilariously couldn’t in fact untangle the knotty enigma that is Kenergy, the actor teased: ‘It might be affecting the bees somehow, I’m not sure.’
Can we just watch this film right now? Please?
This comes as 32-year-old Margot (aka, Barbie) attended a fan event in Sydney, decked out in pink and looking absolutely fabulous (of course).
The star wore some of the most fabulous white-rimmed shades we’ve ever seen,, alongside an incredible 2000s baby pink polar neck, and a shiny – you guessed it -pink mini-dress.
We are loving the energy – and Kenergy – these two are bringing to their roles, and they really are kicking off our summer with the right vibes.
One thing’s for sure, we’re anticipating many pink dresses in wedding season 2023…
Ryan and Margot are for the flick – including , , , Ncuti Gatwa, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Dame Helen Mirren and Will Ferrell.
Roll in July!
