On today’s show, the former star made the big announcement that he and would be returning to the ITV programme in the coming months.
Speaking to and , the 33-year-old expressed how excited he was to work with Ruth, 62, again, after she and her husband Eamonn Holmes were , going on to present during the school holidays.
‘I am coming back for one week only, one week only with my lovely telly mum Ruth,’ Rylan revealed.
‘Me and Ruthie are gonna do the show in the summer for a week. I can’t say no to Ruth can I.’
While it’s uncertain whether Rylan will return for more presenting stints, or who else Ruth may present with beyond the week, several people shared how much they were looking forward to seeing the two side by side yet again on This Morning.
‘Just caught up with this, I’m so ready for Rylan and Ruth to present summer,’ one person tweeted.
‘Yessssssss @Rylan is back for 1 week with Ruth,’ another celebrated.
Earlier today, Rylan joked about taking his mum on This Morning as a guest, having sparked hysterics with her .
‘I’m taking my mum on @thismorning today. It was nice knowing you all x,’ he joked.
In 2016, Ruth praised Rylan for presenting alongside her on This Morning, calling him her ‘stand-in husband’.
In November last year, it emerged that Eamonn had .
Shortly afterwards, it was announced that he was , saying in a statement that the channel is ‘just the kind of shake-up the industry needs’.
In a statement, ITV confirmed that Ruth would be staying with the broadcaster, saying: ‘As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show.
‘Ruth remains an important part of ITV Daytime both as a continuing member of the This Morning family and as an anchor presenter on Loose Women.’
