It has now been announced that Stand Up To Cancer is due to take place on Friday November 3 to celebrate the decade-long telethon put on by Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK, following its launch all the way back in 2012.
As part of the evening’s festivities, which bring laughs across the nation while also raising vital money for cancer research, the show will look back on the comedic prowess of Sean.
The programme will end with footage from Sean’s 2010 show, which was filmed at London’s Hammersmith Apollo for his sell-out tour, Sean Lock: Lockipedia.
Stand Up To Cancer 2023 promises to be a star-studded event, with Rhod Gilbert, Davina McCall, Adam Hills, Joe Lycett and Munya Chawawa appearing on the programme.
In 2021, it raised a sensational £31,169,340 from the broadcast, and considering the total has gone up with each show, here’s hoping that pattern can continue.
SU2C: The Takeover will feature a 90-minute live show boasting a bunch of famous faces, from Rita Ora to Oti Mabuse, Cush Jumbo and many more.
Among the exciting moments of the evening will include all-new Celebrity Gogglebox, as well as the terrifying finale to Don’t Look Down where a team of celebrities will attempt a world-first relay highwire walk over the London Stadium, home of the 2012 Olympics.
The night will end with The SU2C Comedy Roast, with the proceedings hosted by Rhod as stars including Ellie Taylor, Danny Beard, and Nish Kumar perform.
Comics Sara Barron, Thanyia Moore, Bobby Mair, Harriet Kemsley, Fatiha El-Ghorri and Larry Dean will take part in a ‘roast roulette’, which will be sure to bring both laughs and gasps galore.
Stand Up To Cancer 2023 will air on Friday November 3 on Channel 4.
