Minds have boggled over and ’s recent revelation they have been – and yet more details are emerging.
That’s right. The couple, who tied the knot in 1997 and share children Willow and Jaden Smith, have since before for joking about his, ahem, ‘wife’ Jada’s alopecia.
The 52-year-old actor has now also claimed the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star, 55, first chatted her up when he was married.
During a tell-all interview with, she reportedly said: ‘He called me when I was in Baltimore with my mom.
‘She was like, “Listen, tell him – y’all hang up that phone. You don’t need to be talking to no married man.”
‘And I was like, “She’s right.” And so I was like, “Will, I’m so sorry, but my mom says please don’t call me anymore.” And so we didn’t talk again for a whole other year.’
The Emancipation star was married to actor Sheree Zampino from 1992 to 1995, from which he has a son Trey.
The Red Table Talk actress also divulged details of where the pair stand now in an interview with .
‘We’re still figuring it out,’ the mom-of-two told the publication. ‘We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together.
‘We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.’
She also reminisced on that infamous Oscars moment in which Will got up on stage and slapped comedian Rock in the face and said: ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.’
Jada revealed she was shocked by Will’s remark because they ‘hadn’t called each other husband and wife in a long time’ at the point.
Speaking 18 months later, Jada said she initially thought the interaction was a skit before confirming the three words she said to Will after the incident.
‘I thought, “This is a skit”,’ explained Jada. ‘I was like, “There’s no way that Will hit him”.’
She also revealed her first words to Will after the disastrous Oscars evening were: ‘Are you OK?’
Will ended up being banned from Academy events for an entire decade.
The rumormill went into overdrive about their relationship when the Scream 2 actress shared in 2020 that during the course of their relationship.
But now, it appears – although not divorced – the couple are definitely separated and have been for the best part of a decade.
