’s son Jackson has recalled the devastating moment he learned his father had died.

Jackson spoke to Ant Middleton’s Head Game podcast this week where he revealed he learned the news from a friend of Warne, who was on holiday with him when he died.
Jackson was with his mother, girlfriend and sister at the time, and doubted he would ‘ever be able to forget’ the moment he got the call.
He said he ‘vividly remembers’ seeing his father’s friend’s name pop up on his phone, and thought it was ‘very weird that he would be calling me, not my dad.’
Having been told the life-altering news, Jackson said he began sobbing, before sitting in silence as he grappled with the shock from the news.
‘I don’t think I’ll ever be able to probably forget where I was or what I was doing [when I got the call],’ he said.
‘Your life that you’ve been living … everything you ever knew … just gets completely flipped upside down.’
He admitted he was still struggling to accept the loss, feeling as though he will would have a conversation with his father again, ‘whether it will be in a dream, or somewhere.’
He said there is ‘no way I won’t be able to talk to him’ about everything going on in his life, or the hobbies they used to share.
Warne is widely considered one of the best players in history, having taken a staggering 708 wickets in 145 Test matches.
He was a key member in one of the greatest teams in history, with Australia dominating the sport for much of his 15-year international career.
