Shannen Doherty has opened up about her shocking from estranged husband Kurt Iswarienko, alleging that he cheated on her as she battled .
The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress was diagnosed with stage four in 2020, before revealing the tragic news that it had spread to her brain, .
She walked down the aisle for the third time in 2011, marrying the photographer in Malibu.
In April of this year, the 52-year-old filed to end their marriage after 11 years, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason.
Speaking in the first episode of her new podcast, Let’s Be Clear, she reflected on the end of their 14-year relationship, claiming that she found out he had been having an affair at the beginning of the year, .
‘Being in the middle of a divorce while having stage 4 cancer… I filed for divorce this year, 2023. I had brain surgery in 2023 as well,’ she told listeners.
‘We discovered in the first week of January that my cancer had spread to my brain … I had brain surgery which was the most frightening thing I’ve ever been through in my life. I didn’t think that I was going to make it. I was positive that I was going to die.
‘I went into that surgery early in the morning, and I went in after I found out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been carrying on an affair for two years. To not go in that surgery – even though, being very clear, he wanted to go – I couldn’t go into that surgery with him there. I felt so betrayed.’
Instead, Shannen during the operation, as well as the recovery, as she also came to terms with her marriage falling apart.
‘At the end of the day, I just felt so incredibly unloved by someone I was with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart,’ she continued.
‘Just to have to go through all of that while trying to figure out if you’re going to get a fricking divorce, and trying to get to the truth of that.’
Kurt has yet to address his ex’s claims of an affair publicly.
The Charmed star shared that she became ‘obsessed’ with finding out the truth, and even spoke to his alleged ‘girlfriend of two years that he cheated on me with’.
‘I finally had to come to that hard truth and file for divorce,’ she said. ‘It was embarrassing. I am horrified that I can’t keep a relationship together. I think it is a reflection me, but this one I think this one is on him.
‘I do not take responsibility for the demise of our marriage, I take responsibility for some of the issues in our marriage. I take responsibility not only because of how I was but because of how cancer impacted my marriage, and how it impacted him the second time around.’
Shannen was previously married to Ashley Hamilton for around one year, before their split in 1994 – before walking down the aisle with Rick Salomon in 2002.
Despite her previous heartaches, she insisted that it hasn’t changed her outlook on life, vowing that she still believes in love.
‘I don’t want to be a failure in life and I’ve failed three times at marriage,’ she added. ‘And I still believe in love.’
