The first celebrities have been eliminated from

Friday night’s episode saw and , and Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, and Andy Whyment and Jordan Banjo go head-to-head in a Bushtucker Trial.

Shaun, Phil, and Andy had to choose a fellow campmate to partner up with, after being sent back to the main camp following a stint on basic rations in Savannah Scrub.

As they’re competing in the ‘all stars’ series, this time around, meaning the losers of the grim survival challenges will be automatically sent packing.

Alas, after failing miserably at a rather frightening task.

The six celebrities were chained together for Savage Safari and competed to free themselves from one another and hit a buzzer first.

In true I’m A Celeb style, of course, they had to put their hands into crates… which were far from empty.

From snakes to rats, the stars faced their fears as they blindly put their arms inside.

Well, most of them did… Gillian didn’t actually get past the first crate.

Shaun, meanwhile, aced his part of the challenge, but was unable to go any further without his teammate,

Asked by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly mid-trial if he ‘regretted’ choosing her as a partner, the Happy Mondays singer joked that he did.

After their elimination was confirmed, they both said they were ‘gutted’ to be out first, as they weren’t ready to go.

‘I’m sad to leave because I really wanted to stay,’ Gillian said.

When asked what went wrong during the trial, the Scottish star explained: ‘There were quite a few snakes in there, and one of the heads popped out and I got such a fright. I put my hand in, I went down, and something wrapped itself around my hand and I couldn’t shift it.’

Shaun was especially sad to leave new pal Phil behind, giving him a big hug as his friend headed back to camp.

‘I wanted to take Phil home!’, he said.

The Manchester star said he ‘really enjoyed’ his second stint in camp, admitting he ‘loved it’ despite not being in ‘the same nick’ as he was 12 years ago, now aged 60.

It’s no secret that he and Gillian didn’t get on when they first lived together in the Australian jungle back in 2010.

However, they appear to have now turned over a new leaf.

‘My time in camp has been fantastic, it’s been absolutely the best time of my life and I can’t believe I’m saying that but it’s true,’ Gillian later told cameras.

‘I’m gutted to be going, but that’s just how it is,’ Shaun added.

‘And I’ve come out with a prize!’, he quipped, referencing his new unlikely friendship with Gillian.

‘I’ve won!’, he declared. ‘I knew we’d come full circle, happy days! Now we’re off to get married.’

Hmm, maybe we’ll have to wait another 13 years to see that happen!

I’m A Celebrity South Africa continues each night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
