Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have announced their after seven years of marriage.
, 51, tied the knot with the Magic Mike XXL actor, 46, in 2015, saying their vows in a star-studded ceremony in Palm Beach.
However, they have now revealed their split in a joint statement shared with , which read: ‘We have made the difficult decision to divorce.
‘As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.’
Although they have yet to share the reason behind their break-up, an insider told the outlet they had been ‘growing apart’.
The source added: ‘Sofia and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.’
Sofia started dating Joe in 2014, following her split from fiancé Nick Loeb, and they announced their engagement six months later, on Christmas Eve.
They, with the sitcom icon’s Modern Family co-stars among the guests in California.
The True Blood star couldn’t rave about his partner enough in a rare chat with Cigar Aficionado, telling the outlet: ‘There’s nobody I’d rather spend time with. She was it for me.
‘People say things like, “Marriage and relationships are work.” But it’s not. Life is hard. Having somebody to help you deal with it is the greatest thing that ever happened.
‘It’s such an easy relationship, easy in all the right ways.
‘Looking back on the relationships I had before this, I think the universe was giving me some tough practice so I’d get this right.’
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2015, Sofia gave viewers a glimpse into their romance, revealing that she once told Joe he was ‘too good looking’ to date.
‘I told him when I met him that he was too handsome,’ she confessed to the host.
‘I didn’t want to go into a relationship with somebody that … I thought he was going to be too much work, because girls were throwing themselves at him. ‘I’m like, “Ay! No! Please, I want somebody normal”.’
News of their split comes just days after Sofia jetted out to Italy to celebrate her 51st birthday – with fans noticing that her now-ex didn’t make the trip.
Sharing snaps from her getaway to Europe, and that seriously hot heatwave, she wrote beside one upload: ‘When life gives u lemons u come to Italy to squeeze them [sic].’
She also enjoyed taking in the sights of Ravello, posting a string of photos in a stunning blue swimsuit, with the message: ‘Even when u r so hot I love u Ravello!!! [sic].’
