Wrapping up the , the for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 showed rocking his black symbiote suit, sending fans into an absolute frenzy.
The game is set to drop on Monday, October 20 this year, and pre-orders for the standard, digital deluxe, and collector’s editions are already live in the UK.
The collector’s edition is available exclusively through Direct, making it a highly sought-after gem. Once it vanishes from the shelves, it’s gone forever, giving scalpers a golden opportunity to squeeze hefty sums of cash out of eager buyers.
In the UK, the collector’s edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes with a price tag of £220, which is already significantly higher than the standard edition priced at £70.
As usual, it comes packed with physical goodies, including a 19-inch Venom statue, in addition to rare in-game cosmetics and the game itself.
If you take a quick look on eBay, you’ll find sellers offering the collector’s edition at various prices, going all the way up to a jaw-dropping £400 above its official price. The highest listing we stumbled upon was £600 (we’re, sadly, not joking).
Not that shipping costs would be a concern if you’re ready to shell out £600, but at least a few scalpers had the ‘courtesy’ to factor these in within the price.
Since it seems that PlayStation Direct still has stock available, it goes without saying that it’s best to grab Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 collector’s edition from there, as it’s the only authorised seller in the UK.
If you happen to miss out but still want some memorabilia to remember the launch, you can always grab the physical copy of the game and score some freebies along the way.
