The box art and pre-order details for ’s Midnight Suns have L***ed online, confirming at least two more playable characters.
There were already rumblings of Marvel’s Midnight Suns releasing . While that’s not quite the case, newly L***ed details have given away that it’ll be out soon, specifically in early October.
What’s more, we can likely expect developer Firaxis Games and publisher 2K to confirm these details during , which kicks off from June 9.
Technically, 2K has already confirmed them by hitting the original leaks with a copyright claim. The images have been reposted elsewhere and look legitimate; the copyright takedown only corroborates them.
Aside from a release date of October 6, the leak also gives away pre-order details for three different editions and their respective box art.
The box art reveals two more playable characters: Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch. Neither are especially surprising, however; the game’s focus on magic and demons made Scarlet Witch a safe inclusion and Spider-Man is Marvel’s most popular character.
Fortunately, it doesn’t look like Midnight Suns will repeat what did and lock Spider-Man to the PlayStation versions of the game. So, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch owners can breathe easy.
Midnight Suns will feature 13 different heroes, including a custom character called the Hunter. With Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch confirmed, we know 12 of them, leaving one more character to be revealed (please be Squirrel Girl).
As for the different editions themselves, pre-ordering them will only earn you extra skins. Although, from the sound of things, there are a lot of them.
The leaker, , says that the Enhanced Edition will come with five skins, while the Legendary Edition has a whopping 23 of them, including Spider-Man’s symbiote costume. There’s no mention of these skins being available as standalone purchases.
The Legendary Edition will also include access to a season pass, which apparently adds four more DLC packs containing new characters, missions, and enemies. This will definitely become available as a separate purchase.
For whatever reason, Ahrensmeier only lists them for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. We don’t know yet whether this means the Switch version won’t have the special editions or if it’s a simple oversight.
One another curious detail is the box art for the Ultimate Edition, which swaps the hero line-up for main villain Lilith and four demons that resemble other Marvel characters.
One of them is clearly meant to be Spider-Man adversary Venom, while another could easily be the Hulk but with horns. They’ll no doubt serve as major antagonists in the game and could mean Lilith is not only corrupting villains but other heroes as well to serve as her minions.
Since Ahrensmeier claims this information is public and obtained from retailers, we could easily see Firaxis and 2K share a new trailer and pre-order details within the next month or two.
Midnight Suns is in development for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
