Star of Disney’s Little Mermaid remake, 23, gives birth to baby with angelic name

has announced that she’s given birth to a baby boy with an adorable picture of the newborn.

star – who’s in a , 26 – shared a post on Instagram revealing that their son was born before the new year arrived.

The 23-year-old revealed a photograph of the new parents holding their baby’s hand, with a tiny bracelet on his wrist embossed with the word ‘Halo’.

In her caption, she wrote: ‘Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son..’

She continued: ‘Welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️.’

star was immediately inundated with congratulatory messages, including from rapper Nicki Minaj, who wrote: ‘Welcome to earth, Halo. We’ve been expecting you. 😇 Congrats, mama! 🤍.’

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry commented: ‘Congratulations, Halle. Welcome to motherhood and welcome to the world baby Halo ❤️.’

Hunger Games’ Rachel Zegler, who recently starred with new mum Halle in an interview series for Variety, added: ‘Welcome baby halo!!!!! And congratulations beautiful mama.’

Other stars who congratulated Halle included Kylie Jenner, Teyonah Parris, Raye, Yara Shahidi and Storm Reid.

DDG, real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, shared a similar post on his own Instagram page to announce the news, writing in his caption: ‘My biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤️ son son.. never been so in love 🥹 baby halo.’

He also added on his Instagram Story: ‘The flyest kid in the universe has arrived.’

Halle and DDG made their red carpet debut as a couple in June 2022 when they attended the BET Awards, with the rapper saying at the event, according to : ‘I have my boo with me today.’

Later that year, the actress spoke in an interview about how she’d been a fan of her partner before they got together.

‘I’ve been a fan of his for years,’ she told .

‘I grew up being on YouTube and would always see the young Black creators and was constantly inspired by them. He was one of them.’

The singer, who is one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle with her sister Chloe Bailey, said that she ‘gravitated’ towards one of DDG’s songs, before he ended up messaging her.

In addition to performing with her sister, Halle has also released solo music, with her debut single Angel coming out last summer.
