TV personality has made his first post of the new year a positive one.

The presenter, 47, had a difficult last few months of 2024 after the loss of his father, Christopher, and a hospital stay when he .

Now he has taken to , where he told his 766,000 followers to ‘look after each other’ as he wished them a Happy New Year.

‘Here’s to a year where we look after each other and make wonderful memories. Hope it’s the best 2025 for us all! Happy New Year, everyone! x’, he wrote.

The message accompanied an AI-generated video of multiple mother birds shielding their babies from rain, seemingly reiterating his comment about looking after each other.

Fans were quick to comment on the video, sharing their support and well wishes for the Deal Or No Deal star. ‘Happy New Year Stevie. I hope you get all the happiness and love you deserve this year’, @ant.decfangirl wrote.

@michelecorston added: ‘Happy New Year Stephen, stay healthy and strong, sending you lots of love’.

‘Happy New Year Stephen and keep strong x’, @dawnflounders commented under the video. Cheryl Spilsbury also said: ‘Happy New Year to you, such a lovely person who deserves the best’.

The TV host ended up in hospital in November last year after an ambulance was called by concerned staff at the restaurant he was dining at.

A statement to Metro read: ‘Stephen has had an incredibly tough time over the past few weeks. His beloved father recently passed away which has hit him hard and has been understandably very stressful.

‘In addition he had a procedure which took place yesterday (Wednesday). Following the anaesthetic that was administered, he had a few drinks which made him unwell and he was taken in to hospital as a precaution.

‘He is now back home recovering.’

A source further told : ‘He took himself off for a quiet, solo dinner that evening, had a few  and just reacted incredibly badly. He’s only human, and his dad’s death has hit him hard.’

According to , Stephen was quickly released and went on to recover at home, adding that he ‘is mortified that he had such an awful — and public — reaction to the anaesthetic.’

Despite the difficulties of 2024, Stephen also had some exciting career moments, including the reboot of the hit 90s show, You Bet!.

It was announced in August that he and long-time pal,  were teaming up to co-host the game show which originally aired from 1988 to 1997 and had hosts including the late Sir .

, one on December 7 and another on December 22, with a panel of celebrities and the studio audience predicting ‘if each challenger can complete the extraordinary challenge with which they are faced’.

‘Guess correctly and points are added to the celebrities’ score, based on the percentage of studio audience who voted the same way,’ ITV said.

At the end of the show, the studio audience voted for their favourite challenger who took home a £10,000 prize, while the celebrity with the highest score won £10,000 for their chosen charity.
