has opened up about plans to retire his acting career, .
The Hollywood legend, known for his roles in Father of the Bride, Cheaper by the Dozen and Little Shop of Horrors – among many others – kicked off his incredible career in 1967.
Since then, the 76-year-old has since won countless awards for his work, including an honorary Oscar in 2013 and five Grammy trophies.
In a new interview, he explained that he is considering taking a step back from projects when Only Murders, his wildly popular crime comedy series with Martin Short and Selena Gomez, eventually comes to an end.
‘When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others. I’m not going to seek other movies. I don’t want to do cameos. This is, weirdly, it,’ the Housesitter star said.
Steve will have his hands full with a selection of other projects, including an upcoming book on anecdotes from his time on various sets.
Fans are also set to get their hands on a documentary about his decades-long career for Apple TV+, which he will be working with director Morgan Neville on.
Chatting to , he explained that he wants to wind down at some point, but can’t stop coming up with epic ideas.
Which is not a bad position to be in.
‘My wife keeps saying, “You always say you’re going to retire and then you always come up with something”,’ he added to the publication.
‘I’m really not interested in retiring. I’m not. But I would just work a little less. Maybe.’
Thankfully, Steve is going absolutely nowhere as it was confirmed that the only Murders gang will be returning for a third outing.
The show follows neighbors Charles Haden-Savage (Steve), Mabel Mora (Selena) and Oliver Putnam (Martin) as , The Arconia, after suspecting that the killer is among them.
Of course, it isn’t quite as easy as that and there are many twists and turns in the hallways of the building – with a second series airing on Hulu now.
Although we’re desperately trying to find out who ‘glitter guy’ is and who is behind the latest killing, the program’s official Twitter page announced that more murders will be occurring.
‘My neighbors have a special message for you all: #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding will return for Season 3,’ a message read.
‘Now I just have to worry about who’s next… I hope it’s not me!’
Bring it on.
Only Murders in the Building is available to stream on Hulu in the US and on Disney + in the UK, with new episodes dropping on Tuesdays.
