Stevo The MadMan had a case of mistaken identity when a fan thought he was .
The content creator – real name Kevin Stephens – was enjoying himself at the game at ’s O2 Arena on Saturday when he came across a fellow spectator who matched his energy.
In a heartwarming video shared on his social media, Stevo is seen rapping along to Skepta and JME’s hit That’s Not Me which was ironically playing in the arena.Â
He’s joined by an overzealous young man who’s insistent on telling the former footballer that he is indeed Skepta.
‘This kid and his dad thought I was skepta, so I just rolled with it,’ he captioned the post.
As Stevo repeatedly tells the fan that he’s definitely not the grime MC, the man hilariously keeps telling him ‘you are Skepta!’
After much back and forth, Stevo gave in and declared: ‘Alright, I’m Skepta.’
He added in the caption: ‘In the end I just went with it.’
Stevo’s famous friends were highly amused by the situation, with Skepta’s sister Julie Adenuga commenting: ‘F*****g hell hahahaha.’
Comedian Munya Chawawa joked: ‘Bro…I had that with Aston [Merrygold] last night mannn.’
Presenter Melvin Odoom laughed: ‘You are too much bro!!!!!’
Feeling a pang of guilt at misleading the fan, Stevo later made a plea to find him, asking his followers: ‘TAG THE BOY IF YOU KNOW HIM lol I didn’t wanna spoil his night. But I wanna let him know the truth today. He’s took pics ? probably on Facebook tagged skepta.’
Skepta himself went viral recently as the internet lusted over his appearance at Givenchy’s Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.
As for Stevo, he’ll be returning to screens after being cast in E4’s new series, Celebrity Cooking School, which is due to air later this year.
