The CBBC presenter, 30, who was paired with professional dancer on the announced the delightful news on Instagram.

Sharing a picture of himself beaming along with TV design worker Beth brandishing her new sparkler, he wrote: ‘She said yes!
#caymanislands #engagement.’

The comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages from his Strictly family, including host , judge and dancer Neil Jones.

Tess wrote: ‘Congratulations!❤️’ while Oti exclaimed: ‘AAAAAAAAAHHHHH CONGRATULATIONS ?❤️?❤️? WE LOVE TO SEE IT.’

Neil, meanwhile, shared: ‘Omg congratulations.’

It’s not known how long Rhys and Beth have been dating, but her name was first revealed during a cheeky shoutout on Strictly.

After Rhys and Nancy performed their steamy Argentine Tango to Phil Collins’ In The Air Tonight, Strictly’s host Claudia Winkleman asked the broadcaster: ‘What did your girlfriend Beth say when you told her you were doing the Argentine Tango?’

Rhys replied: ‘Beth said “If i’m not jealous, you’re not doing it right.” So, Beth I hope you’re both proud and jealous!’

On Strictly, Rhys , which saw former EastEnders actress  and Giovanni Pernice taking the crown.

Reflecting on his stint on the ballroom series, but there was a lot of behind-the-scenes support.

‘They have their own therapists in there. They’ve got people that who you can talk to if you’re feeling lonely, because I mean, they know it can be a very stressful show in a very scary show,’ he told OK! magazine.

A born and bred Londoner, Rhys joined CBBC in 2016 and has presented numerous other shows including Blue Peter and Newsround.

He’s also appeared on Steph’s Packed Lunch, talking about internet safety, and is an ambassador for Place2Be, a charity providing mental health services in schools.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday at 7.30pm.
