Although Dianne gushed about her ‘magical’ Strictly family, she insisted that the decision to leave the popular show couldn’t have been easy one.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, she said: ‘I think there’s gonna come a time in the pros life when they hang up their dancing boots and give other things a go.’
When asked how she felt about her co-star’s departure, she added: ‘Not necessarily a massive shock, but I wish them the best.
‘It’s always really sad to see someone leave. We can’t all be there forever. It’s such an amazing job, the Strictly family is like nothing else, so it’s really hard to take that step, and we will 100% miss them for sure.’
After BBC confirmed the professional line-up, fans have been wondering which judges will be returning to the panel.
Long-serving judge Craig Revel Horwood recently teased that the popular programme could accommodate five judges, without the need to dump or .
A slightly stunned Dianne – who danced non-stop for 12.6km over 2 hours and 12 minutes in a new Guinness World Record – revealed that she would love to see an extra person on the judging panel, under one condition.
‘Look if there’s five judges great, if there’s four, great! I don’t really mind how many they’re as long as one of them gives me a 10!’ she laughed.
‘If there’s five it means our scores our higher. Literally, that’s the first I’ve heard of that. All the judges are fab, I love them all, and if there was to be a new one, I’m sure I’d love them too.’
When asked whether she could see herself taking a seat on the prestigious podium, Dianne expressed it would be an opportunity she wouldn’t refuse.
‘It would be an amazing role to be a judge,’ she said.
‘That’s setting the bar pretty high I reckon, but if someone says to me “do you want to be a judge?” I’d be crazy to say no. I love being the pro, but to be sat on the other edge, would be a nice feeling too. You never know.’
