A day later, the 33-year-old posted a video on the platform showing how her loved ones reacted to the pregnancy announcement… and you’d better have your tissues at the ready.
Oti’s sister, Strictly judge , and pro dancer Nancy Xu were included in the compilation, and their reactions have filled our hearts with incalculable joy.
Set to the tune of Victor Thompson’s This Year, the footage began with Marius being given a positive pregnancy test to look at while in bed, as a smile dawned on his face.
Oti showed multiple people her baby bump on FaceTime calls, with Motsi shown gazing at her sister and brother-in-law adoringly.
One person could be seen mouthing the words ‘oh my god’ at the news, while another astonished individual who found out in person went to take a closer look at Oti’s baby bump.
When Oti told Strictly’s Nancy, the pro dancer was sitting on a chair when her jaw dropped to the floor in shock.
She then ran over to Oti, throwing her arms around her and breaking down in tears.
Later on in the video, Oti and Marius were surrounded by loved ones at a close-knit gathering, with the people there clapping over the exciting news.
The reel ended with a selfie taken by Oti of her and Marius in the reflection of a mirror with their dog, and the mum-to-be’s bump on full display in the beautiful shot.
In her Instagram caption, she wrote: ‘Living in a different country as a couple means you don’t have family around to break the news face to face to.
‘And most often friends became family ❤️ we are so extremely lucky with our group of friends, disclaimer this isn’t all of them not enough video space ? but we kept our circle really tight, full of positive energy, laughter and joy ?
‘Because that first and secondly trimester can we super super challenging ?Really grateful ?.’
