actor Misha Collins has apologised for seemingly coming out as bisexual at a recent fan convention.

The actor, 47, played angel Castiel in the acclaimed series, from its fourth season all the way up to the final season 15.

While the show came to an end in 2020, it enjoys a massive cult following and legions of fans, with Misha and co-stars and often appearing at conventions.

This week Misha appeared at a fan convention in New Jersey where he appeared to come out as bisexual at a Q&A with the audience; he talked about introverts, extroverts and bisexuals, and told the crowd he was ‘all three’.

The father-of-two has since received hundreds of messages of support from members of the LGBT+ community.

However he has now clarified that he misspoke.

Misha took to social media on Monday where he said he wanted to ‘deeply apologize for misspeaking’ at the convention.

Referring to him saying that he was ‘all three’ things, Misha went on: ‘My clumsy intention was to wave off actually discussing my sexuality, but I badly fumbled that and understand that was seen as me coming out as bisexual.

‘This was not my intention so I need to correct the record: I am not bisexual. I happen to be straight, but I am also a fierce ally and the last thing I want to do is falsely co-opt the struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community.’

Misha went on to express his unwavering support for the LGBT+ community, and apologised again for ‘the clumsiness of my language’.

‘I want to be a better ally and I feel sick to my stomach that I might have done anything to make things worse,’ he said.

‘I’m trying to learn, trying to do better and I will keep listening.’

The online reaction to Misha’s clarification has been mixed – many welcomed the apology with open arms and accepted he simply misspoke, but some others accused him of making bisexuality the butt of a joke.

One person suggested it was like ‘’, considering Misha and Jensen’s Supernatural characters were an extremely popular pairing known as Destiel, with fans convinced the pair were in love with each other.

Meanwhile, Jensen also appeared at a fan convention over the weekend, but Jared was conspicuously absent.

His Supernatural co-star told fans that Jared had recently been in a ‘very bad car accident,’ and was unable to make the event.

According to reports, the 41-year-old said of the incident: ‘He’s lucky to be alive. And not only that, but he’s a home recovering which – the fact that he’s not in a hospital right now is blowing my mind because I saw the car.’

Jensen didn’t share details of the crash but confirmed that his friend ‘wasn’t driving’, and was in the passenger seat, stressing that there were ‘no fatalities’.
