Superstar comedian ‘storms off stage’ leaving fans outraged

stormed off stage during his show at Hard Rock Live in earlier this week.

The world-famous comedian, 50, was performing on Wednesday when someone in the audience got out their , angering the funnyman.

It was Chappelle’s second night at the 7,000-seat venue and in recent days fans in support of the star’s actions and those against have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share their outrage.

Reporting on the incident, the notes that the venue in Hollywood, Florida, has a policy that states the show was ‘device and electronics free, per the artist’s request’.

The outlet adds that devices such as phones, cameras and smartwatches are meant to be kept in pouches throughout the performance.

Chappelle has yet to address the incident, but fans were quick to talk about the moment on social media, with one person tweeting: ‘Way to let down your fans by storming off the stage due to a cell phone.’

An X user named Luis was also angered by Chappelle’s actions, saying: ‘To throw a hissy fit over one person with a phone and walk off stage is pretty weak.’

However, many more made it clear they understood why the A-lister left the stage.

Elliot angrily penned: ‘Some f*****g a*****e pulled out his phone at the #DaveChappelle show at the Hollywood Hard Rock.’

Moe echoed: ‘Imagine paying to see Dave Chappelle and somebody ruins the show by recording with their phone. I’d wanna fight.’

‘Dave Chappelle has always been known to ban phones during his shows. Kinda sucks but then again you have more of an engaged audience,’ added someone with the nickname Jersey Dubz.

Meanwhile, X user Mary Lou wrote: ‘Why not respect the artist’s material and not pull out your phone?’
