’s grilling of on Good Morning Britain resulted in over a million people tuning in to watch the ITV programme, it has been reported.
This marked the show’s highest peak audience since April 2021, as the explosive interview saw the presenter savagely on GMB in over almost five years.
Ms Reid conducted the interview live from Downing Street, as a peak audience of 1.3million .
The highly-publicised conversation – which saw the pair discuss the cost of living crisis and the war being waged by Russia in Ukraine – peaked with close to a 30% share of viewing.
Between the hours of 6am and 9am, when GMB was on air, the show achieved a high of 2.4m viewers.
Meanwhile, a clip of Ms Reid speaking to Mr Johnson about the cost of living, bringing up a 77-year-old woman called Elsie who eats only one meal a day to avoid using energy at home, has currently been viewed more than three million times.
After the interview, the GMB co-host jokingly admitted that she was after putting the politician to the test.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, she said: ‘Yeah, it was remarkable speaking to him. Look, it’s been almost five years since Boris Johnson has appeared on Good Morning Britain and for just over two of those years he has been Prime Minister.’
She added: ‘Fascinating talking to him – you know, it’s historic even being in this building, even being in this room but of course the weight of those partygate fines hangs over these premises.’
Ms Reid during their talk, as she said to him: ‘There are claims of sexism in Parliament, partygate investigations continue and there is a rising cost of living crisis. Prime Minister, we have a lot to get through.’
