is considering pursuing a career in and already knows how she’ll canvas for votes.
The and star helped change the law after her shared a video of them engaging in sex. Georgia did not give her consent for the video, which was secretly filmed using CCTV, and Stephen 33, is currently serving a 21-month jail sentence for the offence.
She campaigned for which will now become law. As part of the legalisation, it will be easier to charge and convict someone who shares intimate images without consent.
Through her important work, Georgia has become more interested in becoming a politician herself and had serious discussions with Labour MPs about running for Essex.
‘There are definitely discussions going on at the moment and it’s just weighing up if I have the capability to go forward with that, but I absolutely love the world of politics,’ she told Metro.co.uk at the ITV Palooza red carpet.
‘I think when you are thrust into showbiz, and your whole career and friendship group is around that then you never really look into it but politics is fun.
‘Believe it or not, MPs aren’t just MPs because they are some random boring people, they’ve got great character and ambitions,’ she stated.
Georgia particularly admires the ‘unfiltered’ Jess Phillips, and Yvette Cooper after spending time with them.
‘They’ve got just as much of a social dynamic as people within ITV do. I absolutely love it, and if I have the capacity I’ll definitely delve into politics.’
Of course, there’s the small matter of getting enough votes to be elected too, and Georgia plans to utilise her 1.1 million followers on Instagram.
‘I’ll probably do an Insta story, stay in the warm, do you know what I mean?
‘Not even a grid post, just swipe up or whatever,’ she joked.
If Georgia is successful then she has big plans: ‘I would love there to be a domestic abuse specialist in all sectors of the police force.
‘We need more education within schools on violence against women and girls, to make sure people respect each other.
‘There is so much bad manipulation towards the younger generation in terms of social media and misogyny. It’s not about stopping that, because you can’t stop people if they want to spread negative energy. It’s about counteracting that in places that we can.’
Despite her political ambitions, she is not turning her back on reality TV. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has been on Georgia’s vision board for years, and she’s also open to the rebooted Celebrity Big Brother.
Although Georgia, who appeared on Love Island in 2017, admitted that she may annoy some of her housemates: ‘I’m a morning person, which isn’t for everyone but they’d like me in the evenings.’
