Rumours started swirling earlier this week that director Taika and 31-year-old Rita are planning an intimate wedding ceremony for later this year, before they celebrate in London with a bigger bash.
A source shared with that the couple supposedly plan to wed once their current work commitments come to an end.
They said: ‘This isn’t about them doing a big showy thing and crowing about it beforehand. It’s just about them being in love and deciding the time is right to formalise their relationship. They couldn’t be happier.
‘They didn’t do a whole, “Will you marry me?” thing and an Instagram post.
‘There’s no ring or big build-up. They just got closer and closer and eventually said to each other almost simultaneously, “I want to marry you”.’
The Masked Singer panellist Rita began dating Taika in March 2021 after meeting in Australia amid the pandemic.
Rita and Taika have mostly kept their romance private since they got together, but over recent months.
The Voice star , telling last September: ‘I’m in a great place in my life, that’s all I’m going to say about that.’
Since then, though, they’ve and don’t seem to be shy about cosying up for the cameras.
