If you had hopes of seeing headline next year, well, we have bad news.
It looks like the pop star is officially out of the running for 2024’s festival following the release of
Swifties will remember that Taylor was due to play Worthy Farm in 2020 before the pandemic so cruelly snatched that away from us.
Ever since, there have been rumours of her returning, especially with co-organiser Emily Eavis
Alas, we might have to wait until 2025 to see Taylor on the Pyramid Stage, as her upcoming UK and Europe tour clashes with what are believed to be Glasto’s 2024 dates.
Taylor initially around the weekend of June 28, 29 and 30, prompting speculation that she was saving those dates for a special something.
It turns out, she was just saving them for… more tour dates, as she’s now announced an extra concert for Dublin that week.
That’s not all, as the Anti-Hero hitmaker has added 14 more dates to her European leg in total, including another in London – bringing Wembley Stadium’s total to six – and Liverpool – meaning three shows for Anfield.
Her whole tour – so we hope Taylor has been getting her beauty sleep!
Reacting to the extra dates online, fans were, naturally, beside themselves, especially as Paramore has been confirmed as a special guest.
But, others are also stunned that Ms Swift probably won’t be headlining Glasto for another 12 months.
‘Actually shocked Taylor isn’t doing #Glastonbury after being announced for 2020 – and Eavis comments about a female headliner pushing back a year to 2024 due to tour schedule’, one person tweeted.
‘Say whaaaat! I was certain that Taylor was one of the headliners for next year!’, wrote another.
‘taylor glastonbury dream is officially #dead’, one added.
Another Swiftie even suggested Glastonbury could rearrange their whole festival purely to fit in with Taylor – stranger things have happened!
‘I was actually so confident Taylor Swift would play Glastonbury that I’m now wondering if they’ll open the main stage on the Thursday. Probably high unlikely I’d imagine, but you never know…’, a tweet read.
So, while Glasto is off the cards, Taylor’s Eras Tour show promises to be a real spectacle, as she’s currently touring the States with the three-hour show of her hits through the years.
And if you’re hoping to secure tickets for the UK, there are some deets you need to note.
Presale has currently only been awarded to people who pre-ordered Taylor’s latest album Midnights, and access codes will be sent out between 10am Thursday, July 6, and 10am Friday, July 7.
keep an eye on your emails (and spam folder!) if you haven’t already received one explaining everything.
It explains how a limited number of randomly selected registrants will have the opportunity to access the ticket sale, and everyone else will be placed on the waiting list.
If you’re a lucky one, you will get an access code via email to either Ticketmaster or AXS, and this will allow you the opportunity to access ticket sales for the specific city you’re registered to.
To make things more confusing, your access code will tell you which day your hopeful tickets will be made available to you. These vary depending on which show you’re trying to bag tickets for.
You will receive this mystery email by 23:59 on Friday, July 14.
May the odds be every in your favour…
