Warning: spoilers ahead for The Mandalorian season 3 episode 7.
Following last week’s eccentric instalment of with and Jack Black , the show has in season 3 episode 7.
While different factions of Mandalorian communities are able to see past their differences and reunite in an effort to take back their home planet of Mandalore, the (Giancarlo Esposito) gets in their way with new tools at his disposal, resulting in the capture of Din Djarin ().
In one of the most devastating moments of the entire Disney Plus series so far, Paz Vizsla (Tait Fletcher) is Ki**ed by Praetorian Guards, who show no mercy as they stab him repeatedly with their weapons while the other Mandalorians flee.
On a lighter note, Grogu finally (technically) says his first words with the help of the newly rebuilt IG-12 droid – but so far, he hasn’t been able to get past ‘no’ and ‘yes’.
Meanwhile, Din Djarin declares his loyalty to (Katee Sackhoff), explaining to ‘Lady Kryze’ that he doesn’t follow her because she carries the Darksaber, but because of her dedication to being a person of honour, leaving her looking stunned by his kind words.
Ending explained as Paz Vizsla faces enemy on his own
After arriving on Mandalore, Bo, Din and the rest of their scouting party discover that there are some Mandalorian survivors still living on the planet, after their homeworld was destroyed in the purge.
They aren’t the only living beings that they come across, as after facing an attack by a huge dragon-like creature, they descend into the Great Forge of the planet.
While they’re down there, they’re assaulted by Imperial forces, who turn out to be working for the one and only Moff Gideon, who is himself wearing a Dark Trooper armour made from beskar alloy.
After falling into Moff Gideon’s trap, Din Djarin is taken captive, while the rest of the Mandalorians, including Grogu in IG-12, watch on helplessly.
Bo uses the Darksaber to cut a hole in the shut door, allowing the scouting party to escape, but Paz Vizsla chooses to stay behind, explaining that there are still too many of the enemy to leave them be.
Not allowing Bo to follow him, Paz Vizsla uses his machine gun-esque weapon to shoot down a number of the attackers, throwing some of the side into the depths below.
However, he’s no match for the trio of the Praetorian Guard, who Star Wars fans will remember watching fight Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) in the sequel trilogy movie The Last Jedi.
Several fans expressed their huge upset over watching Paz meet his end, with others pointing out that now his son Ragnar (Wesley Kimmel) has lost his father.
‘They did not have to give paz that brutal of a death. literally stabbed numerous times ARE YOU KIDDING ME??’ one person tweeted.
‘Rest in peace Paz Vizsla you were a real one you deserved sm better,’ someone else wrote.
Another viewer added: ‘Paz Visla is a king, idc what nobody say,’ while someone else couldn’t help but point out how ‘cool’ the entrance of the Praetorian Guards was, despite the horror that they then caused.
Predictions for The Mandalorian season 3 finale
Now that Moff Gideon has finally shown his face in the third season of The Mandalorian, we can only imagine the terrifying plans that he has in store for his captive Din Djarin.
We imagine that throughout the torture that he may have prepped for Din (we’re praying that this doesn’t happen), he may forcefully remove Mando’s helmet as a means of humiliation.
Given Grogu is comfortably nesting in IG-12 and in control of the droid, we hope to see the youngling combine his use of the Force with droid’s gun-wielding skills for an incredible fight sequence while rescuing his dad.
We reckon Bo will seek out the Mythosaur to not only help with her mission to unite the different factions of Mandalorians, but to leave Moff Gideon trembling in his boots.
Or, perhaps the Mythosaur will be stirred by Din Djarin being imprisoned in Mandalore, and venture out to rescue him itself?
The Mandalorian is available to watch on Disney Plus, with new episodes released on Wednesdays.
