has finally aired the moment ’s ex-lawyer Rudy Giuliani was unmasked, prompting judge to walk off and sparking uproar among viewers.
Earlier this year, it was reported that after Giuliani was identified on stage, judges , while Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger remained on-stage and ‘bantered’ with the former mayor of New York City.
The unexpected and controversial turn of events unfolded in the most recent episode of the singing competition, as he emerged as the singer behind the character Jack in the Box.
, who hosts the show, turned to Giuliani and said: ‘It surprises us all that you’re here on The Masked Singer,’ while Thicke remarked: ‘This is definitely something I never would have guessed’.
Jeong crossed his arms as soon as Giuliani’s mask came off, as the audience gasped in utter shock.
While the previous report claimed that both Jeong and Thicke left the stage ‘in protest’, in the broadcast, only Jeong’s departure was shown, with The Hangover star walking away quietly.
Scherzinger was initially befuddled over Giuliani’s identity, asking if he was Robert Duvall due to a previous guess made by Thicke.
In Jeong’s absence, McCarthy and Scherzinger were shown dancing enthusiastically to the politician’s performance of George Thorogood & the Destroyers’ song Bad To The Bone.
McCarthy also expressed her gratitude towards Giuliani for him appearing on the programme, saying she was ‘so glad’ he competed, which he is said to have done for his granddaughter.
