to screens as is back for, and while they may be complete opposites, Lauren Socha has revealed she’s actually quite like Cat.
The BBC comedy follows two half-sisters, who didn’t know the other existed until the death of their dad, who had lived two secret lives.
Cathy, played by Ellie White, is uptight, sensible and the complete opposite of her sister Cat, played by .
Through the first series, the pair learnt to navigate their new found sibling-life, with the season finale revealing they had another half-sibling, Callum, who Cathy actually kissed in a wild moment before she realised who he was.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other publications ahead of the second series airing, Lauren revealed that her character Cat is quite similar to her real self.
Cat is known for her eccentricity, playfulness and not taking herself too seriously, from working as a Deliveroo driver, always wanting to party and having some light experiences on Tinder.
Lauren shared: ‘I sort of do the same stuff to be honest, apart from a Deliveroo driver.
‘Tinder has been an experience of mine, it’s not worked out.
‘It’s just a fun, happy character to play, and it’s very refreshing to have that.’
However, despite their personalities matching, Lauren added that their dress-senses are worlds apart.
‘She’s very out there, which makes the character even more funny, because she looks like a clown half the time, a female version of Mr Tumble,’ she joked.
The 31-year-old added how refreshing it was to play a part like Cat, something ‘other than crackheads, prostitutes and heroine addicts.’
Speaking about her character, Lauren said: ‘She is mad and playing such a fun character like her, she can be changed everyday, she’s that flamboyant and just out there that it is a fun character to play.
‘She’s so endearing as well, which is nice to play.’
Lauren returned to an acting role after working on the NHS frontline during the pandemic.
She took up a role in a care home, looking after those most at risk, announcing on Twitter in April 2020: ‘Second week working in a Care home. Absolutely love it, and feel right at home. Lovely bunch of people also.’
