The Wanted singer Tom Parker has announced he will be releasing a book this year detailing his devastating fight against .Â
The 33-year-old pop star, who was in 2020, is set to release his debut autobiography in July.Â
In an Instagram post, he shared an animation of empty pages of a book being filled with photos of him sharing moments with friends, wife Kelsey Hardwick, and their children, Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one.
It also included the message: ‘Hi, I’m Tom Parker, a lot of you know me as one fifth of The Wanted, but I am also a father, a husband, and a son, that’s battling brain cancer.
‘It’s a book about finding hope in whatever situation you’re dealt, and living your best life no matter what. It will show you how having faith in hope and daring to dream means you can carry on, against all odds.’
Tom added that the book ‘is not about dying: It’s a book about living’, before confirming that fans are able to pre-order the memoir now.
The singer received support from his Wanted bandmate Jay McGuinness, who wrote: ‘This is going to be EPIC. If you do book signing I’m available as security.’
Dame Arlene Phillips commented: ‘Tom this is so wonderful.’
Tom’s wife Kelsey also joked: ‘Can’t wait to read the chapter about me.’
The musician announced he had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, which is currently in stage four.
Last year, he revealed that the glioblastoma was stable after having an MRI scan, but recently underwent special treatment at a clinic in the Costa Del Sol, Spain, where fees are £8,000 for two weeks, or £11.6k for a three-week programme.
Despite his recovery, – including Max George, Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaran – on their UK tour this month. He appeared at several shows using a wheelchair and remained in great spirits, often posing with his bandmates in social media posts.
