Throughout his career, porn star Rocco Siffredi has starred in over 1300 adult films.
From Buttman’s Ultimate Workout, Bend Over Brazilian Babes and Big Tit Adventure, his projects are .
Known as the ‘ Stallion’ Rocco (born Rocco Tano) has spent years as and has gained a legion of fans over the decades.
Although his story is largely unknown to many, he’s allowed to shine a spotlight on his humble beginnings growing up in the coastal town of Ortona to his superstar lifestyle as a leading figure in the sex industry.
, Rocco, who is played in the series by Alessandro Borghi, said: ‘This beautiful story is inspired by my life, but it is not my life… Everything you will see in Supersex originates from me, but then the writer put a lot of herself into it.’
Unsurprisingly viewers can expect sex, and a lot of it, when tuning in.
Throughout filming, Alessandro filmed 50 sex scenes in 95 days.
The series opens in 2004, when Rocco first made the shocking announcement that he would retire from performing in porn for the sake of his children, and instead focus on direction and production.
However, when begged by a woman not to follow through with his plans, Rocco decided to put on one final show in front of his adoring fans, with the first sex scene kicking off just six minutes in.
At the time of announcing his retirement in real life, Rocco told the world questions from his children were starting to concern him.
‘I can no longer just say “Dad is going to work to make money for the family”. They want to know more,’ he said.
Growing up in a Catholic family in the 1960s, sex was a taboo topic.
But after discovering a pornographic magazine as a teenager, Rocco’s idea for his future career was sparked.
Despite his mother wanting him to become a priest, the altar boy had the ‘devil between his legs’.
Moving to Paris in his early twenties (where the series shows a particularly awkward first sexual encounter due to Rocco’s hefty penis), Rocco started attending different sex clubs and was then discovered by French porn actor and director Gabriel Pontello, who introduced him to other producers.
His debut came aged 22 in the 1986 film Sodopunition pour dépravées sexuelles.
Taking his stage name from the character Roch Siffredi, played by Alain Delon in the French gangster film Borsalino, the star briefly took a break from porn in the late 1980s and worked as a fashion model.
However, once he made his return, Rocco carved out a niche, with his penchant for specific sex acts (anal sex and anilingus, as well as rough sex) earning him recognition and a cult following.
Through both his acting and directing work over the following years, the performer became one of the most influential and recognisable personalities in pornography.
In real life, following his retirement Rocco wasn’t seen on screens for nearly five years but due to his frustration with ‘disappointing’ male talent he decided to return as an actor in 2009.
Six years later he threw in the towel shortly after appearing on the Italian reality television series L’isola dei famosi (The Celebrity Island), which saw him stranded n**ed.n**ed and alone on a beach for one week.
He later told the press that ‘something inside me has changed’ and he no longer felt comfortable in front of the camera but he did continue performing in various pornographic films and his own series.
Rocco, a Hungarian model he met in 1993 and then starred alongside two years later in the film Tarzan X: Shame of Jane.
The couple share two sons, Lorenzo and Leonardo.
However, Rocco battled sex addiction and disappeared from home for days to sleep with strangers.
In 2015 he later discussed his sex addiction as emerging from ‘some kind of devil in me’ and said it ‘sometimes sends me out of my mind’.
Eventually, he realised he would not be able to maintain both his career and a marriage.
‘Today I can see, my wife, she is the top priority,’ he said in a statement.
‘She deserves to have what she wanted from day one, to be with only me without sharing with other girls.’
After his cousin and long-time collaborator Gabriel Zero died in 2020, Rocco then floated the possibility of collaborating with his son Lorenzo on productions.
Two years later he again announced he was set to stop performing in scenes, but noted he no longer wanted to use the word retirement due to the several times he’d done so before.
Supersex was directed by Matteo Rovere, Francesco Carrozzini and Francesca Mazzoleni, while Jasmine Trinca plays Lucia, a fictional female character who represents a synthesis of most women with whom Rocco had a relationship in his life.
Adriano Giannini plays Tommaso, Rocco’s half-brother, while Saul Nanni plays Rocco as a young man.
Other cast members are Enrico Borello (Gabriele), Vincenzo Nemolato (Riccardo Schicchi), Gaia Messerklinger (Moana), Jade Pedri (Sylvie) and Linda Caridi (Tina).
Supersex is now available to stream on Netflix.
