Thirty Seconds To Mars failed to appear at today, pulling out at the last minute.
The band was due to take to the stage at 3:55pm in Dundee on Saturday (May 27), but the plug was pulled due to ‘technical difficulties’.
’s group is said to have kept the crowd waiting for an hour before it was confirmed that they would not be playing.
Earlier this afternoon, a notice was displayed on the screens.
It read: ‘We are experiencing technical difficulties.
‘Thank you for your patience.’
However, shortly after, fans learned that their late-afternoon 30-minute set wasn’t happening.
Understandably, revellers weren’t happy.
‘I’m fuming, one of the reasons I bought tickets to #BigWeekend is to see Thirty Seconds to Mars and @BBCR1 cancel them!! Sort it out.. didn’t travel 6 hours for them to get cancelled!! What a waste!’, one angry fan tweeted.
‘Thirty seconds to mars bein 20 mins late (so far) is not the vibe’, another initially tweeted.
Another wrote at 4:25pm: ‘Thirty Seconds To Mars’ set should’ve been over by now but they haven’t even got on stage yet’.
Following the chaos, BCC Radio 1 tweeted: ‘Unfortunately Thirty Seconds To Mars have been unable to perform today due to technical difficulties.
‘Everyone associated with the band and Radio 1 has done everything they can to resolve the issues but it just wasn’t possible today.
‘We’ll update soon with any further news.’
And in a further update issued to Metro.co.uk, the station confirmed that all hope is not lost.
Instead, the group will take to the stage in Dundee tomorrow (May 28).
They said in a statement to use: ‘We are delighted to be able to announce that after huge efforts by the band, Thirty Seconds To Mars will be playing the Radio 1 Future Sounds stage at Big Weekend in Dundee, tomorrow (Sunday) at 11:45!
‘We know that there will be Saturday ticket holders who will be disappointed but hope that they can enjoy the show live on Radio 1, BBC Sounds and iPlayer.’
When contacted for comment, representatives for the band also told us: ‘The band and BBC have worked extremely hard to reschedule and make this happen and all efforts are being made to make it up to disappointed fans.’
A whopping 80,000 fans have descended on the festival this weekend to watch their favourite stars perform.
The line-up is truly stellar, including Lewis Capaldi, Niall Horan, Raye, Anne-Marie, and Arlo Parks.
The 1975 will headline this evening from 9pm, with the Jonas Brothers, Mimi Webb, Tom Grennan, Joel Corry, and Jess Glynn also on today’s roster.
