presenter had viewers in stitches as she got up to all sorts with icon .

The TV legend hosted Friday’s episode of This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary, and was unable to contain her excitement as they interviewed Jonathan – aka Lord Viscount – about the new series of the acclaimed Netflix show.

With the programme continuing to smash records as it’s watched by millions across the world, Alison had a burning question for Jonathan – about how they performed the, aherm, ‘shakey-shakey’ scenes on the show.

The period drama includes plenty of romantic scenes, with Alison remarking: ”I heard you used a netball so you don’t touch each other.

She asked: ‘How did it work? Can we get a demonstration?’

A laughing Jonathan explained they use three barriers for ‘safety,’ including a half-inflated netball in the middle during steamy scenes.

As he spoke, he shifted in his seat – with an absolutely buzzing Alison giggling: ‘I thought he was coming over to show me!’

Alison then jumped over onto the couch with Jonathan, where they piled three cushions in front of one another and, to Alison’s pure delight, briefly held hands.

Dermot was doubled over with laughter at this point – as were plenty of Ths Morning viewers – as Jonathan remarked that what they were doing was ‘essentially a screen test’.

Viewers flocked to Twitter in their droves to share their reaction to Alison’s incredible fangirling, with one person writing: ‘Alison just makes me smile and laugh so much. She’s just so likeable.’

‘I just love Alison Hammond,’ another wrote with a multitude of laughing emojis, while another wrote simply: ‘Alison is in her element today!!!’

One delighted viewer said they were ‘pissing myself at Alison’s reaction to everything jonathan bailey is doing, because SAME GIRL (sic)’.

And another Bridgerton fan joked: ‘ ‘LOL @ Alison Hammond fan girling over lord viscount … tbh I would too, he’s lovely! (sic).’

Bridgerton is proving as popular as ever with fans, with  revealing series two boasted an incredible 193 million hours of viewing time worldwide in the three days after its premiere.

These numbers represent the highest for any English-language Netflix series in that time frame, after the phenomenal success of Korean drama Squid Game last year.

The Netflix hit , and despite the dubbing down of ‘shakey-shakey’ scenes in series two, its massive success looks set to continue.

In even more good news for Bridgerton fans, centring around Queen Charlotte has also been announced.

The regal monarch, played by Golda Rousheuvel, will have her own prequel series, focusing on her past, childhood and love life.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
