And now, plans for Turner’s funeral have been revealed, with the Private Dancer singer opting for a ‘small, private’ memorial service, followed by a cremation.
Eddy Hampton, Turner’s personal assistant, said: ‘She did not want a big public funeral. She wanted to be cremated – I expect it to be a small, very private affair.’
Turner moved to Switzerland and obtained her citizenship in 2013 when she married Erwin Bach, living there until her death earlier in May.
Speaking to , Hampton continued on to say that any public events would come later, mentioning that a memorial concert might occur.
‘[The funeral] will be for her very close friends in Switzerland, and her manager. It will not be a big family occasion,’ he added, speaking of his close friend.
On Monday, it was revealed that King Charles paid tribute to Turner by playing her iconic song The Best during the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.
