Scott D’Amore has been fired by TNA Wrestling.
The and manager has been removed from his position as president, with parent company Anthem Sports & Entertainment replacing him with Anthony Cicione.
In a statement, the media company said: ‘Cicione replaces Scott D’Amore, whose contract with Anthem has been terminated. since 2003.
‘He held many key leadership positions and played a vital role in the growth of the company leading to its strong industry reputation today, including the successful return of the TNA Wrestling brand in 2024.
‘Anthem thanks him for the commitment he brought to the business, the talent, and the people who work outside the ring.’
The company has insisted ‘the move aims to further integrate TNA Wrestling into Anthem’s Entertainment Group, of which Cicione is the President’, which will allow them to make full use of their resources.
They said this will ‘add more value in areas including production, distribution, marketing, viewership, customer acquisition, digital revenue streams, ad sales and sponsorships, digital tech operations, and more’.
Meanwhile, Cicione has been with Anthem for 16 years in charge of technical operations and ‘multiple cable and digital channels’.
As well as his role as President of Entertainment, he ‘will now manage the day-to-day business operations ’.
‘He brings more than 30 years of executive-level management experience to the organisation,’ the company added. ‘Prior to his time with Anthem, Cicione was a producer of sports content including catapulting The Score to success by bringing WWE to the channel.’
D’Amore is yet to publicly address his exit, but some wrestlers have paid tribute to him after the shock news of his departure.

TNA veteran Frankie Kazarian said: ‘The incredibly painstaking, tedious and difficult work that @ScottDAmore has put in to bring @ThisIsTNA to this very exciting moment in time, cannot be understated.
‘We all, wrestlers and fans alike, owe him a debt of gratitude. 🥃’
And announcer Dave Penzer wrote: ‘I’m just going to say it. Without @ScottDAmore Impact/TNA would be a video library probably owned by .
‘I saw him strip that thing down to the studs and rebuild it on a less than skeleton budget to where it stands today which is ready to take off. Hope it survives-Massive loss!’
